Transportation for Medicaid Recipients
As the state of Wisconsin’s non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) manager, MTM, Inc. arranges transportation for eligible Medicaid and BadgerCare Plus members throughout the state to their covered preventative and life-sustaining medical appointments. North Country Independent Living
Providing transportation vouchers for people with disabilities who live in the North Country’s eight-county region, in areas not served by public transportation and do not have adequate access to transportation and have income at or below 200% of Federal Poverty Level ($25,519 for an individual in 2020). Bay Area Rural Transit
BART's buses run from the Bad River Reservation through Ashland, Washburn, Bayfield, to the Red Cliff Reservation and back. They also provide transfers to the Ashland City Bus, Washburn's Blue Goose, Red Cliff Transit, and Bad River’s transit system, and other to and from other cities throughout Ashland County.
BayCo Door2Door
BayCo Door2Door is a BART van service that will be providing public transportation from your door in Bayfield County to anywhere else in Bayfield County, or to the cities of Ashland and Hayward, and back. **Certain restrictions apply. The cost is based on distance.
Red Cliff Transit
Providing door-to-door transportation within the Red Cliff and Bayfield area, including to and from the BART bus stop. Their vehicles are handicap accessible, and rides always cost just $1.
Washburn's Blue Goose
Providing door-to-door transportation within the Washburn area. Their vehicles are handicap accessible, and rides cost $0.75 if you are elderly or disabled.
Namekagon Transit
A small bus operated by Namekagon Transit provides weekly service on Tuesdays from the Barnes, Drummond, and Cable communities to Hayward. Reservations are not required but are helpful; there is a nominal fee charged for this service.
BART's buses run from the Bad River Reservation through Ashland, Washburn, Bayfield, to the Red Cliff Reservation and back. Ashland Drives Taxi
Transporting people wherever they need to go; rates will reflect the mileage. Rate per mile for outside of Ashland is $2.00 per mile. Recommendation is to call and obtain a quote. Senior, military, and veteran discounts available.
